MTYS Travel Program
Girls Travel Director: Lou Scaravaglione, girlstravel@mtys.org
MTYS Travel League General Info
Monroe Township Youth Soccer is a Non-Profit organization with the sole purpose of providing a place for youth to play soccer. We are independent from the township and receive no external funding from the township. All of the MTYS registration fees and fundraising is how we maintain our fields (which the club owns) and keep the club running. There are no paid individuals on the board of the club and parent volunteers are always needed. Please email info@mtys.org if you are interested in volunteering.
The MTYS Travel Program is an open program that was founded in 1974 to offer players from Monroe Township and surrounding communities an opportunity to:
-
Play competitive soccer against other soccer clubs with in the State of New Jersey
-
Compete in tournaments throughout the Eastern United States (most tournaments played by teams are in the tri-state area)
Within MTYS, the travel program is dedicated to serving the needs of the more committed and skilled soccer player by providing an advanced level of instruction, thereby preparing him or her to be a proud representative of our Club at local, state and regional competitions. The Program strives to produce confident players who are interested in reaching their athletic potential within the sport of soccer, at a reasonable cost. MTYS offers players from U8 to U19 a place to play; we also have 2 amateur adult league teams catering to players of all ages. A large part of our coaching core plays on these amateur teams.
The travel program has a proud history that is well-known throughout New Jersey. The focus of our Travel teams is the development and integration of solid individual technical skills with comprehensive team tactics. While we emphasize the importance of winning soccer games, from a coaching standpoint, long-term player development comes first. Our commitment is to quality training resulting in quality competitive players and teams that compete within New Jersey and beyond. The Travel Program takes pride in the growth of club members as athletes, students and responsible young men and women. We are always looking for new players who have the commitment and desire to uphold our tradition of excellence.
